Front Teeth

Front teeth on grey concrete,
cry stilled by wonder. Silence
between shock and pain
displaced. Clouds knuckle-white
hovered. The choice was there
to shatter further.

But no.

She picked up those teeth, her teeth,
unhinged doors of a toy car.
Her tongue groped for shards
that clung to flesh.
Her hand grew immense,
gathered sky, road,
and all of her into one
tight fist.

How she stared down
at every one.

This also appears on Helium.  Not very popular there, which reveals more about the readers and members there than about the piece.  Or does it?

Rest assured.. the poem is as good as any of yours. You still have the power to make me feel and see things that I never have before.

You have incredible insight and a way of constructing your poems that combines the technical aspects of writing with the passion that fuels the poems.

Keep writing. You are ahead of your time.

Secretlee..;-)) (you know who i am!)

If you ever saw my hands you wouldn’t say such things! 😛 Think “Yoda hands.”

Hi and welcome to Matangmanok, Rexen! Thanks for the comment. Always great to meet new people. I’d love to hear what you think of this little place for my scribblings. Hope you visit again soon.

ps the hands that moved Yoda belonged to one of my heroes, Jim Henson (if I remember that bit of Star Wars trivia right)
